Ellen Page's marriage to girlfriend Emma Porter has pushed forward the conversation on LGBTQ rights. Page is a vocal activist for the dignity and rights of the LGBTQ community.
Ellen Page announced her marriage to Emma Porter on Instagram early this month on January 4, captioning the photo, “Can't believe I get to call this extraordinary woman my wife."
Page, 30 and Porter, 23, have been dating since early 2017 and have been known to enjoy posting about their romance on social media. Porter, a dancer from Ottawa, teaches contemporary jazz at the Broadway Dance Center in New York and has choreographed Justin Bieber’s performances for his Purpose World Tour. Page constantly posts videos of their own dance routines from songs by Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears.
Page came out in 2014 when she addressed a conference on teenage homosexuality hosted by the Human Rights Campaign's Time to Thrive conference. "I am here today because I am gay," she said.
